| Sarah Blake 19th November 2009
"I was sick to death of feeling flabby and unhealthy. I heard the ad on the radio for the 10kg challenge with LA Fitness and decided to check it out on the way home from work. Just what I needed!! It sounded so easy and a definite mnotivation to know that I would own a treadmill at the end of it. I had to change my eating and exercise habits. Going from loads of junk food and couch time to eating healthy meals and walks on the treadmill while watching Desperate Housewives, Friends, or CSI. It was a challenge but one I was happy to take on. Now I own a treadmill and are 11.5kg's lighter. Great for summer beach times. Thank you LA Fitness, I wouldn't have done it without you. This challenge worked perfectly for me! =)

“It started with a hiss and a roar, losing a few kilo’s in the first month. Then the winter flu came, “it’s a six month marathon not a sprint”, amongst other excuses. I noticed the treadmill hadn’t had much use in the past couple of months. With a month to go and help from my wife by cooking healthier meals and “encouraging me” I reached my goal. Congratulations Dean, well done!

Andrea got through the challenge, is super committed to exercise & has said..."The success of a colleague and friend (Jessica White - her photo is on your website) inspired me to do the Challenge. Having the crosstrainer in my living room, in front of the TV encouraged me to exercise more often (as did the challenge itself!), and I supplemented cross training with lots of walking, weights and dance classes, and healthy eating. Having the Cross trainer at home will definitely help with my healthy lifestyle and weight loss journey leading into the winter months too". Congratulations Andrea who takes away a Cyclone Crosstrainer for winning our challenge!!

Tim Whitehead 24 January 2009
Tim has worked very hard to take away a Cyclone Crosstrainer & the following is a little blurb from the man himself!!
"Well it wasn’t always easy as I do very much like drinking beer, and quite a bit of it!! The first 5 kilos was quite easy really, a bit more exercise and cutting out snacks etc. then the hard bit began!!!! Telling lots of people what I was doing was very helpful as I almost became accountable to them and didn’t want to fail in their eyes as well as my own. Having the web page to follow was a great help, again accountability and the fact that Andy and the team really do want people to succeed meant a lot. Now the real challenge is staying within a new weight range. I was 96.5 kilos and now want to remain in a 85-87 range ". Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Tim, keep working hard.

| Jason Tane 12 January 2009
'This challenge was just what I needed. A training “shot in the arm” so to speak. I started with a hiss and a roar, as you do, and the weight started falling off. I cut right back on beer, which had been a regular part of my diet, but didn’t change too much else. As I hadn’t been doing any real exercise up to this point, stage one was relatively easy. Just get on the treadmill, crank up the music and just go for it. By the end of 6 to 8 weeks I had lost 4kg. I thought “Man this is going to be easy!”. Then I picked up a nasty flu bug and that set me back a bit. I had no energy to train, so I did very little in the next month. Fortunately I started coming right about month 4 and started getting seriously back into it. Then I hit a major snag, I got to the 5kg mark and then the weight just stayed the same. Luckily, my very supportive wife went on-line and found the Downsize Me Cookbook (ordered it on-line, think it was only about $20). I started eating way more sensibly and we discovered that if I cut right back on carbs, especially at night, the weight started falling again. But at about the 8kg mark my body started getting clever. If I didn’t vary my training pattern the weight plateau-ed out again. So for the final 4 weeks all I had to do was shock my muscles every now and again, usually about once a week. One day I did a swim, another time I just hit the roads which was great, but man my muscles were sooo sore the following day, I could hardly walk (shows how well the impact is absorbed on the treadmill). Anyway, I got there I am very proud to say and I feel fantastic. The best thing about this is now I am in a position to do other things I used to love, like triathlons, and I know my body is ready for it'.

Kirsty Farrant 11 January 2009
Kirsty is our first 10kg winner of 2009!! She was disciplined through the Christmas holidays and stuck at it through New Years. Kirsty said "I achieved my goals by doing two things. I persevered with exercise, even when I felt like giving up and I got other people on board so that they could motivate me and I was accountable to someone other than just myself"! Excellent work!!!!!!!!!

| Lauren West 11 December 2008
Lauren came in determined to achieve the 10kg challenge, with regular weekly weigh ins & total commitment she well deserves the Cyclone Crosstrainer for her hard work & efforts. Lauren only had 10kg to lose as she wasn't overweight, but she did want to firm up & get fit, so our 10kg challenge gave her the incentive & she achieved her goals & is ready for the New Year!!

Anthony Lummis 9 November 2008
We are super stoked for Anthony and for the commitment he had to the challenge keeping variety, routine, family and support as key factors to his success. Anthony wrote... "I received a huge amount of support from family and friends which really encouraged me to work hard. I joined a running group and committed to running at least 2-3 times a week. I also signed up for all the fun runs around the Hutt Valley which helped a lot. I changed my diet by trying to select the healthier choice and cut down on the beer drinking. I also charted my progress and had it on the wall for all to see so it was always on my mind. I would like to thank the team at LA Fitness as without the 10kg challenge I would still be overweight. I still have a way to go but it’ll be a lot easier now". Thanks Anthony, enjoy the much deserved treadmill & keep up the great work!!

|
| Anish Deo 25 November 2008
Congratulations to Anish who has won our 10kg Challenge and taken away a Spin Bike!! Here's what Anish wrote about the challenge... "The challenge provided me with an excellent incentive to get back into shape. Bascially I combined using the Spin bike with a change in diet to achieve my goals. Andy's Naked Trainer DVD was a great resource to combine a full body workout with the bike, swiss ball and free weights. Must say the last few kilos were the hardest but I got there in the end! Would definitely recommend this programme to anyone serious about getting back into shape". Thanks Anish and keep up the fantastic commitment and effort.

Ciska Penlington 18 November 2008
Fantastic example of sustaining a healthy eating plan and consistent exercise regime. Ciska did 3 - 5 30 minute cardio sessions on the Titanium Treadmill, per week and maintained commitment to healthy food decisions over her 6 month challenge. By doing this Ciska has provided herself a better metabolism and increased her fitness, lost 10 kg's and taken away a Titanium treadmill. Perfect!!!!!!!

|
| Richard Swarbrick 18 November 2008
Using the Titanium treadmill 5 x per week averaging 45 minutes per session, Richard looked set to achieve his goal. After the first 4kg lost Richard hit a plateau and needed a bit of guidance with his eating plan. After contacting Andy and keeping regular contact through the Naked Trainer website Richard said "logging in an exercise plan and receiving helpful advice" put him back on track. Richard lost 12.5kg over 6 months and his fitness has improved significantly!!! Awesome :-)

|
|
| Tobias and Susanne Hipp 28 August 2008

Maria Hart 17 April 2008
Maria is adamant that age is no barrier, time or lack of is no excuse and limited space is manageable. She says "When your older as the extra bedrooms are empty with the children all grown, 10,000 steps a day is so easy, even on rainy days". A true inspiration for all!!!

|
| Trisha Hehir 9 February 2008
Congratulations to Trisha who is a great example to all who have been constantly dieting all their lives. Trisha said that she has always dieted and never got great, feel good, long lasting results for her efforts. This time Trisha combined regular cardio exercise with resistance training and took an "Eat Well" approach instead of depriving herself of a particular macronutrient (protein, carb or fat) and took on the challenge with our Lithium Treadmill. Trisha lost a bit more than 10kg's and for her efforts won the treadmill and achieved a better metabolism. Great work!!
